"Be
careful what you wish for." We've heard and said it how many
times. In Halo's case, it's so meaningful. Our dog auction
flyer arrived and after nervously scanning the list of upcoming auctions
and breeds available, there it was - the dreaded information we cringe to
read. Three Havs were being auctioned and we made plans to attend.
We will refer to ourselves as P, Q and C for ease of reading and
anonymity.
P drove
after work on Thursday evening, staying outside Chicago. On Friday
she picked up Q and they drove 10 hours to the auction site. We both
had not slept well; you get this nervous feeling in the pit of your
stomach. What shape will the puppies be in; will we be able to bid
on them; can we win the bidding; but mostly we want to hold Havanese
puppies driving home! We have to get them and bring them home, we
can't leave them to spend their lives in a mill breeding until they are so
sick, weak or die from lack of medical attention. |
